2 Building a native Trading Post on a map with water will enable Canoes, Wokou Junks, or Marathan Catamarans to be built (map dependent - see "Map Summary" worksheet).  This is a remarkably fast and cheap means of transportation.  The carrying capacity is almost as large as other ships at 20 (50 for wokou junk).  Canoes can be used as extra villagers when allying with Minor Natives (great for late game to save population space).  However, only Asians / Europeans benefit since the build limit of 20 canoes at the dock remains the same on Native civilizations regardless if allied with minor native tribe (no increase from allied tribe).
